Four years ago, I found a small bald spot in Erynn’s hair. Then another bald spot formed and they merged into one softball-sized bald spot. Her hair began to fall out like tinsel, so I scheduled an appointment with a local dermatologist and she was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata. A autoimmune disease, that causes your body to attack her hair follicles, and presently there’s no cure.  

After years of experimental treatments that included steroid ointments, scalp injections, and driving to Jackson every 6 weeks, the treatments stopped working and the Alopecia Areata turned into Alopecia Totalis. Erynn lost all of her hair, eyebrows, eyelashes and we were devastated! Erynn has not let Alopecia stop her! To know her is to love her and she’s involved in Girl Scouts, dancing and cheerleading!
