We always need volunteers! Please fill out and mail our Volunteer Application so we can get your contact info and preferences on file. We have volunteer meetings at least once a month (first Monday) at the Pink Heart Funds office. Please contact us for directions.

Pink Heart Funds has to pay $250 to have one child's wig made. If you can't donate your hair, please consider contributing to the amount it takes to have a wig made.

Share Your Hair

We at Pink Heart Funds have come to realize that the minimum length of ponytail we can accept must be increased from 6" to 8". Not only do children (especially little girls!) tend to prefer longer wigs, but each wig is personally shaped by JoAn and generally ends up shorter than the length that was donated when that process is completed. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience this causes anyone. Please hold on to your hair just a little bit longer before you send it to us. Thank you so much!

We are happy to receive ponytails from 8" on up, however most of our recipients ask for longer lengths so please save up your inches if you can. The only type of hair not accepted is over processed bleached hair; all other types of hair are accepted. Any color hair is accepted; gray hair, hi-lighted, chemically dyed, relaxed and permanently waved. Hair must be (mostly) all one length. All ethnic types are accepted. You can have your regular stylist cut your hair at your next hair appointment.

How to Donate a Ponytail

Secure your hair in a tight ponytail (or several different ponytails), with a band at the top and bottom of your ponytail, cut it, let it dry, and put it in a baggie. Then place your bagged ponytail in an envelope along with your contact information and the name of your school (kids only). Finally, mail everything to:

If hair is extremely damaged, sent in the mail wet, has a foul odor, or is not bound in a ponytail we cannot use it for human hair wigs thus the hair will have to be discarded.

While we gladly accept new or lightly used wigs, we are unable to accept donated hairpieces at this time. Please email us at wigs@pinkheartfunds.org for more information about donating wigs to Pink Heart Funds.
